Introduction:

Kailash manasrovar the famed holy peak stands high in a remote south-west spot in Tibet, miraculously symmetrical (22,028 ft / 6,714 m) striated pyramid with a diagonal gash on one of its faces in western Tibet.

Kailash  is called the Precious Mountain in Tibet. It is believed that poet-yogi, Milarepa (11th C,) was the only person to have set foot on its peak, and he achieve the feat by flying there. "9-storey Swarika" because on the south face of Kailash can be seen a swastika. Mt.Kailash is believed to be the real home of Lord Shiva, for Hindu people it is also the highest blessing to take darshan of the mountain -to be in its presence; to be seen by and to see it. At the slopes of Kailas, a stream is said to pour into Manasarovar and from this lake, flow four of Asia's great rivers the Indus, the Brahmaputra, the Karnali and the Sutlej.

The trip to Kailash is  significant pilgrimage for millions of Hindus &  Buddhists, in addition to Jains and also to Bonpos (Pre-Buddhists) and draws pilgrims from India, Nepal, Mongolia, Tibet, Japan, China, Southeast Asia and other parts of the world. It is thought that one circuit of the holy Mt. Kailash (54 km/32-mile) is sufficient to wipe out all the sins of your lifetime. Wiping out all the sins of your lifetimes is a much bigger task; that major sin clean-up requires 108 revolutions. Bathing in the icy sapphire waters of Lake Manasarovar at the mountain''s base is said to remove the sins of innumerable lifetimes. While we focus of this tour is Mount Kailash in Tibet, the trip through Nepal’s border with Tibet at Zhangmu, Saga and Paryang to Darchen is ethnically and scenically rewarding.

After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu city. In our sightseeing tour we go to Pashupatinath Temple, Jaal Narayan (Budhanilkantha), Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) and Kathmandu Durbar square.

Pashupatinath Temple:  Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this is Nepal’s most sacred Hindu shrine and one of the subcontinent’s great Shiva sites. The supreme holiness of the site stems from the Shiva linga enshrined in its main temple. It expresses the very essence of Hinduism as pilgrims, priests, devotes, temples, ashrams, images, inscriptions and cremation ghats intermingle with the rituals of daily life, all sprawled along the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. The temple’s origins are obscure. An inscription here dates from 477 AD, but the shrine may have stood there for 1000 years before that.

Jaal Narayan (Budhanilkantha): Jaal Narayan popularly known as Budhanilkantha about 12 km north of Kathmandu, at the Shivapuri foothills is the largest Vishnu lying on a coiled five headed serpent carved in a single stone. Jalasaya Narayan is Lord Vishnu for Vaisnavas, Lord Shiva for Shivas, and Lord Buddha for Buddhists. This outstanding artwork of Lichhavi sculptures dates back to some 1500 years.

Swayambhunath Stupa:  6.5 kilometers west of Kathmandu, this great temple is just on the outskirts of Kathmandu. No one actually knows who built it. Many believe that the Lichavis constructed it while others believe that emperor Asoka had already visited it in the 3rd century.  The Swayambhunath complex consists of a giant Stupa, a large ensemble of shrines and temples, and also includes a Tibetan monastery, a museum and a library. This site has two access points: a long stairway, claimed to have 365 steps, leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the southwest entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu’s number one tourist attraction swarms with life. Though a few of the square’s 50-plus monuments date from the 12th century, most are from the time of the Malla Kings. Probably the most famous building here is the Kumari Bahal, a building richly decorated with beautiful woodcarvings, which is home to the Royal Kumari, the Living Goddess and a manifestation of the great goddess Durga. An intriguing piece here is the 17th century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar square, protected as an UNESCO world Heritage site, is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are also museums inside the palace building. Back to hotel and rest of the day is free for packing and program briefing, Overnight stay at Hotel.

Group Tour to Muktinath

Our tour began on the 2nd of May. We were a group of 21 ladies. We were fortunate to get the darshan of Pashupatinath and Muktinath temples. I would highly recommend Lumle Holidays if anyone wants to visit Nepal. Our guide Mr. Nipendra took very good care of us, always smiling and ever ready to give us a helping hand. The rates were very reasonable, the rooms very good and the bus was very good. Our tour concluded on the 8th of May. Thank you Nipendra for making us very comfortable and taking good care of us. Please contact Lumle Holidays for any visit to Nepal.

Most memorable trip to Muktinath

I am a solo Piligrimage Traveller and for the first time travelled through travel agency along with my Father. Fortunately my entire trip was like a surprise package since I had no clue about the routes that I would come across while traveling to Muktinath Temple. Nipender who was the Operations Lead at Lumle Travel Agency accompanied us throughout the duration and educated us about each and every detail of the locations and the history behind it. We had a very skilled and professional Driver too who made the journey ease and fun. There was no issues with Accommodation and food during Muktinath Yatra. Also, we could stop the vehicle in between for site seeing and taking pictures without any restrictions. Overall my Dad and I were completely satisfied and happy :)

Comfortable and well organized trip to Mukthinath

Traveled to Muktinath in November 2018 with parents and aunt. The trip (3D/2N) was organized by Lumle Holidays. Nipendra, the Operations Manager accompanied us personally to Mukthinath Mandir. We were received at Kathmandu airport and took different modes of transportation during our trip. The stay, travel and other arrangements were taken care perfectly and never even once there was a hiccup. Nipendra went above and beyond and helped us with everything. Right from the detailed mail for my initial inquiry, to the constant follow up messages till we reached our home (in Chennai), Nipendra made sure we were more than happy to choose Lumle Holidays. I was a bit nervous about the safety and health of my parents since it was cold (-4 degrees) and the travel might be tiresome. The itinerary along with Nipendra's guidance made sure we had a nice time throughout the trip. Do not think twice before booking with Lumle. Make sure you discuss all the plans and choose the one which is preferable. You will definitely get good guidance from Lumle Holidays.

Excellent arrangement by Lumle Holidays

Mukthinath is a vaishnavite holy place and one of the 108 Divya Desams. We went from Bangalore to Kathmandu via New Delhi. From Kathmandu, we were taken by road to Pokahara. From Pokahara we flew to Jomsom and from Jomsom we went by Jeep to Mukthinath. At Mukthinath we went by horse and Dholi was arranged for my 78 years old Mother In Law. Mr.Nipendra of Lumle Holidays was very kind, informative and made all arrangements in Nepal. We traveled back the same route. On the whole arrangements were excellent.
