Detail Itinerary

If you have any questions or doubts about your trip should be asked and clarified at this time. In evening leisure. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Nagarkot
In the morning, there is an option of going to mountain flight. This is one of the best ways to observe the snow capped peaks of the Himalayan range. The flight is operated between 6.30:00 am to 9.30:00 am.

After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu city. Escorting by an English speaking guide (we can provide any language speaking guide on your request), try to give them a full taste of our culture, heritage and local people. In our sightseeing tour we go to  Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Bhaktapur Durbar Squire and Nagarkot hill station to see the sunset and sunrise views with the enchanting views of the Himalayan ranges as well.

Pashupatinath Temple:  Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this is Nepal’s most sacred Hindu shrine and one of the subcontinent’s great Shiva sites. The supreme holiness of the site stems from the Shiva linga enshrined in its main temple. It expresses the very essence of Hinduism as pilgrims, priests, devotes, temples, ashrams, images, inscriptions and cremation ghats intermingle with the rituals of daily life, all sprawled along the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. The temple’s origins are obscure. An inscription here dates from 477 AD, but the shrine may have stood there for 1000 years before that.

Swayambhunath Stupa:  6.5 kilometers west of Kathmandu, this great temple is just on the outskirts of Kathmandu. No one actually knows who built it. Many believe that the Lichavis constructed it while others believe that emperor Asoka had already visited it in the 3rd century.  The Swayambhunath complex consists of a giant Stupa, a large ensemble of shrines and temples, and also includes a Tibetan monastery, a museum and a library. This site has two access points: a long stairway, claimed to have 365 steps, leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the southwest entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Much of Bhaktapur Durbar Square was destroyed in the 1934 earthquake and appears much emptier than those of Kathmandu or Patan. Amongst its many attractions are substitute shrines for the four great Indian pilgrimage sites and the Golden Gate. This is the most famous piece of art in all Nepal, an exquisite monument of gilded metalwork constructed in 1753.

Nagarkot:  Situated at 2300 meters, on the valley’s eastern rim offers an excellent view of the Himalayas including Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Manaslu mountains. It also has sweeping panoramic view of the terraced hillsides typical of Nepal. It is a popular place for sunrise and sunset viewing. In evening Sunset tour, overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Nagarkot to Manakamana and Pokhara

Seti Gorge: Another of Pokhara's natural wonders that unfailingly interests visitors is the Seti Gandaki River. Flowing right through the city, the boisterous river runs completely underground at places. Amazingly, at certain points the river appears hardly two meters wide. But its depth is quite beyond imagination over 20 meters! provides a perfect  view of the river's dreadful rush and the deep gorge made by its powerful flow.

Devi's Fall: Locally known as the Patale Chhango (Hell's Fall). Devi's Fall (also known as Devin's and David's) is a lovely waterfall lying about two km south-west of the Pokhara airport on the Siddhartha Highway. Legend has it that a trekker (Devin, David.) was washed away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously disappeared down into an underground passage beneath the fall.

We approached Lumle for organising overland trip to Muktinath from Kathmandu and back. Operations Manager Nipendra Maharjan was the one who helped us plan our trip. He accompanied us all through the trip. We engaged a Mahindra Scorpio for our trip. Excellent and caring service has been Nipendra's hallmark. Along with the driver Sarath, both were outstanding. Ineffable to mention about their excellent conduct and service. I would strongly recommend Lumle if you are planning trip to Muktinath by overland tour. Nipendra is a great ambassador for Lumle.  Would recommend hiring an alternate vehicle other than Scorpio if you are looking at having more leg room and comfort.

We 5 friends went to Kathmandu Pokhara Muktinath trip from 9 April to 15 April. We chose Lumle Travel for our trip. We had started planning from February and Mr Nipendra of Lumle was involved with planning our trip. He always replied our e-mail and made our itinerary. When we reached Kathmandu airport he was there to receive us (we all are fifty plus ladies). We made plan to visit Patan and Pasupatinath temple after reaching Kathmandu on the same day. Mr Nripendra was kind enough to take us to Patan and Pasupati. He was with us all along on 9 April evening though our visit to Pasupatinath and sightseeing was starting on 10 April. Our Pokhara and Muktinath Darshan was also very pleasant .Hotel at Pokhara and Muktinath was also very good especially Om's home at Jomsom. Mr Hari of Om's home accompanied us to Muktinath. He is very caring and funny boy who took our luggage while we ladies were climbing. He was with us constantly with us at Muktinath looking after our luggage while we were changing after bathing and having Darshan at Muktinath Mandir. The driver who was all along with us Mr Kamal was also very nice n good never getting irritated or upset. Our nice and pleasant stay was due to Mr Nipendra of Lumle Travel. He was always available on phone, if we had any query. Thank you Mr Nipendra for such a wonderful n pleasant stay
